Unlike Gerry Geronimo,
80 Days was almost fully storyboarded prior to
production. Many scenes that appear in this storyboard were
thrown away in the end, but some were kept and made their
way through the final version of the book.
As the writing and artwork was progressing, the story was
sometimes starting to have a life of its own and got into
new interesting directions we hadn't thought of. Therefore,
some storyboarded scenes became irrelevant and were removed.
On the other hand, others had to be added. but storyboarding
enabled us to set the bases, get a general overview and find
the right pace for 80 Days. |
